  • Slowing Down – the ritual invites you to pause and take a break from the rush of everyday life.

  • Connection to Tradition – it’s a way to connect with the centuries-old culture of Japanese tea.

  • Comfort – the warm, toasty flavor creates a feeling of home and tranquility.

  • Craftsmanship – enhance the ritual with handmade ceramics, each piece bringing uniqueness and intention to every sip.

Simple Hojicha Ritual at Home

1. Preparation
Choose a quiet, cozy spot.
Gather everything you need: a tea bowl, small cup, whisk, your favorite milk, and hot (but not boiling) water — about 80°C.

2. Making the Hojicha Base
Place about 1 teaspoon (2 g) of hojicha powder into the bowl.
Add 50 ml of hot water.
Whisk gently until smooth and slightly frothy.

3. Adding the Milk
Warm 150 ml of milk (dairy or plant-based).
Froth the milk for a creamy texture, then slowly pour it into the hojicha base.
Stir gently to combine.

4. Slowing Down
Breathe in the comforting, roasted, nutty aroma.
Sip slowly, noticing the smoky, earthy flavor with subtle caramel sweetness and a hint of cocoa.
Let the warmth and richness ground you in the present moment.

5. A Moment for Yourself
After each sip, pause and let the calmness of the ritual settle in.
